Programme note
Ituri Rain Forest (Homage to JSB) became a somewhat unlikely homage to Bach when I was listening to some field recordings of flute music from the Ituri Forest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The figuration and the defining of tonality reminded me of the way Bach approached his suites for solo instruments, but the repetitions are of course much closer to African music and minimalism.
