Programme note
Supermoon draws on Henry Cowell’s early experiments with extended piano technique, playing directly on the strings of the piano. Since everyone young pianist may not have a grand piano, there are alternative suggestions for playing on the keys, and producing a similar effect. When the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to earth in its orbit, we get a supermoon, and the moon seems a little nearer and brighter than normal.
