March (Homage to Stefan Wolpe) revisits the world of the agitprop marches of Kurt Weill and Stefan Wolpe, with an ostinato two-chord bass which becomes an Alberti bass towards the middle of the piece. The rhythm of the melody is characterised by diminution and augmentation of note-values.
