You are a real rascal is based on a Xhosa bow song, sometimes with the melody in octaves, sometimes with the melody accompanied by simple bow harmony. One of many songs I learnt from Dave Dargie's recordings and transcriptions of Nofinishi Dywili, I am grateful for his translation which gave rise to the title of this piece.
